BACKGROUND/HISTORY:
Little is known about Zeta's family or early life, but it can be surmised that she had a healthy childhood and supportive parents. At some point during her youth she became a knight in service to a local lord, and performed well enough that she earned his good favor above everyone else. The rest of the knights, spurred by jealousy, hatch a plan to drive Zeta away by informing that if she ever wanted a promotion she would have to let the lord adopt her as his daughter. It works and she quits and set off to make her own fortune—namely by joining up with the Society, a top secret organization with the aim of destroying monsters known as primal beasts as well hunting down the Foe, a(nother) top secret group with the intent of starting a war across the skydoms.PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY: N/A
She does well enough within their ranks that she earns herself a coveted seal weapon, the spear Arvess, and a partner named Vaseraga with whom she takes on numerous field missions with. It's actually a pretty great life for her, up until some of her fellow Society members tip her off that the Society might have been infiltrated by members of the Foe. Things are further complicated when a moondweller named Cassius crash lands and they're forced to babysit him while investigating the Society. It all comes to a head when it's revealed that some of the top dogs of the Society are actually members of the Foe trying to find a way to the moon and start a war between the skydwellers and the moondwellers. The Society collapses, Zeta and her associates get chased out and get branded as traitors, Cassius gets sent back to the moon (and gets his brain removed) and from there it's a race against time to not only rescue Cassius and another man named Isaac but also to wipe out the remainder of the Foe.
Zeta and her friends manage to discover a way to build a rocket to the moon and rescue Cassius and Isaac, though not before the moondwellers send a giant machine named Diaspora to earth with the intent of blowing it all up. Thankfully, they're able to destroy Diaspora with the combined forces of all the seal weapon contractors and save the earth from complete destruction. There's a lot of clean-up left to do after the fact, but everyone is in mostly good spirits at making it out alive and being reunited with Cassius and Isaac again.
PERSONALITY:
Unlike many of her Society peers, Zeta is exactly the same on the inside as she acts on the outside. While recent events have somewhat tempered her brash and reckless behavior, at her core she is still loud, opinionated, and (almost) always ready to get into a fight. Her willingness to do both verbal and physical battle doesn't mean she's cruel or mean or hateful of people; rather, it's merely a tool she uses to judge her own capabilities and that of others. She quite likes people and is generally chatty and vivacious around others, both old friends and complete strangers, frequently ignoring personal space and formalities to buddy up to people. (Likelihood of her giving someone a nickname 30 minutes after meeting them: high.)SUITABILITY:
Unfortunately, her overall friendliness doesn't always earn her someone's friendship. She's also nosy, always curious about the personal affairs of her associates, and takes insults to her person very personally. In those instances, her temper is quick to flare up and she's likely to challenge the other person to a fight more often than not. Thankfully her anger lights up quick and also fades out just as quick. Most of her annoyance remains surface level and she forgives people easily, especially if they're willing to feed her or offer her drinks for free. She's never been someone who overthinks things and often lets those around her do the heavy lifting when it comes to analysis and understanding. She does her best to follow along when someone's trying to explain complex topics to her, but math and science (and critical thinking) have never been her strong points.
While it takes a lot for her to truly dislike someone, it's not impossible. Constantly pick on someone weaker than you, kill other people for fun or your own benefit, and it's guaranteed that her mood will turn sour and stay sour. She gets especially mad when people threaten her friends and that's usually when she becomes extra serious, willing to fight not to prove her own worth but to solidly kick someone else's ass. She's not the type to back down either, even when faced with an opponent stronger than she is. Determination runs through every fiber of her body, and it extends to the loyalty she exhibits towards her friends as well. Even when they start acting weird or start pushing her away, she sticks with them, demanding to know why they're acting the way they are and what it'll take for them to return to normal again.
For all that she would fit right into the role of guy friend, Zeta can also be quite girly when she wants to be. She takes forever to get ready in the morning and is very exacting when it comes to picking out clothes that suit her tastes. She also has extreme confidence in her looks and her body. Maybe that's why she's always letting it hang out in all her outfits.
As a combat fighter and field agent frequently sent out on risky missions, the present danger of landing on and having to eke out a life on Ethyraia wouldn't be too much of an issue for Zeta. She's used to fighting and having to risk her life, and she's both seen people be killed (often gruesomely) in front of her as well as had to kill others. Honestly the worst part of having to adjust for her would be the minimal availability of amenities; her life outside of missions has been fairly cushy, and not having easy access to restaurants, shopping malls, bars, etc would really bum her out. Not enough to make her truly miserable, but she will definitely be grousing very loudly about it.
ABILITIES/SKILLS:
She's an average human, albeit with a reasonable amount of combat and battle experience under her belt. Society cadet training is pretty tough and it can be assumed that she was taught basic close combat fighting and given training with various weapon types (though she excels primarily at the spear), along with battle tactics/strategy and some basic first aid. She's not shown to have any proficiencies anywhere else, such as in various hobbies, so it can be surmised that she doesn't have any standout skills other than her fighting capabilities.INVENTORY:
The bulk of Zeta's battle capabilities (at least the magical ones) come from the oversized spear she wields. Named Arvess, this spear actually houses the soul of a centuries-old god and is capable of attuning itself to Zeta's biological processes and emotions. The stronger her emotions become, the stronger the power of the spear is. When her emotions are at a peak, the destructive power of the spear can be fully unleashed and she can send out powerful bursts of flame to annihilate her enemies and the surrounding area.
As an aside, Seal weapons require a contract with its user in order to function; those that aren't contracted to the weapon cannot tap into its latent abilities. If they try, the backlash is usually enough to kill them.
